It's many of the April 2013 pilgrims and their stories that helped me convince myself the Norte was for me this year (last few days of March and all of April), BUT wondered if you think the access to auberges will be different because of the difference in when Easter is in the two years.

I read the April 2013 blogs and things are open and pilgrims are out but Easter was in late March.
This year Easter is April 20th and starting to wonder if that alone might have more doors closed until that date.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
I can't give a specific answer to your question, but having walked the Norte last spring my experience was that I never had trouble finding a bed. Most hospitaleros are very well informed about the route ahead, so if you ask at the alberge what are your options for the next day they will tell you what the distanses to the next alberges are. If often boils down to a simple choice eg walking 15 km or 24 km. Equally, the tourist information in the towns can tell you your options. It may mean that some days you have to walk longer than want to or stop earlier but you soon get used to weighing up your choices and walking accordingly. The North is a great route. Buen Camino!
