Le Puy route

Time of past OR future Camino
may 2013
Hi
I walked the camino francés in 2013 from St Jean Pied to Finisterre and haven't stopped longing to go back! This year I shall be in France in September . Would love to walk the whole Le Puy route, but only have 10 days free. Can anyone recommend a part of the route for 10 days. Or shall I just start at the start?!
with gratitude.

A selection of Camino Jewellery

Start at Le Puy if you can - definitely the most scenic part. In 10 days you could (just) make Figeac, though Decazeville (definitely un-scenic, a former mining town) might be a safer bet. Both have access to trains.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Yes, begin at Le Puy and walk to Conques in 10 days (we did it in 9). It is hilly, i.e. straight up and straight down, in some sections. But walking down into Conques was the best feeling, and staying at the abbeye in Conques was magical. A perfect ending to a 10 day trip.

P.S. the food at the abbeye was not great, but they did serve wine and a cheese course....

Is it possible to have bags shipped ahead? My husband has back issues.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

Thank you everyone...then I shall start at the start!! Now to work on the fitness for those straight ups!

Hi antjie,
when were you thinking of starting? I am also starting at LePuy. I will be there July 28, for a 10-12 day walk to Conques.
