Before I left for Lisbon I learned about a service for shipping luggage directly to Santiago or stage by stage along the Camino from Lisbon from a post by @flackaj called Luggage Driver.

They can pick up from accommodations with a reception desk, or they have drop off points in Lisbon and Porto.

Although I stayed at a place with a reception desk I felt more comfortable handing my bag over on person, so I chose the drop off point.
I paid 45€ to send a carry on size suitcase.

Bags are delivered in Santiago to the Loop Inn (formerly Hostal Lasalle), which is the same hotel that Express Bouricott uses for luggage storage in Santiago. It's very convenient because they have 24/7 reception so you can pick up your bag at your convenience.

As some of you know, my Camino was cut short by a broken arm, so I never reached Santiago. I was able to contact Luggage Driver and they picked up my bag in Santiago and delivered it to the apartment that I'm in in Matosinhos. I did need to pay a second delivery fee.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
When I walked along the dock road years ago, porters were taking the first crates of the fish catch to the nearby restaurants. I remember thinking sadly that the pilgrim's lot is mostly to walk on by. But if you are a foodie, this could be an upside to an enforced stay in Matosinhos?

We had grilled sea bass yesterday.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
So maybe we have to start a new caminho Português for Foodies Tom ?
every stage from restaurant to restaurant
at the Pilgrims Office by then you have to show all your restaurant bills and get your
Food certificate instead of the Compostela or both .
(the last 100 kms two bills per day. )

Albertinho, this is the kind of dream I have when I'm hungry!

Trecile, are you planning to continue from Matosinhos after your convalescence? Or at least walk a little along the boardwalk, up the coast towards Vilar do Conde? (apologies if you have set this out in another thread)

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-
Thanks for the information! Did you make a reservation with them or just drop it off at Spot Luggage? I'm confused by their web site because it seems like you can only make a reservation for day to day delivery, not having it sent and stored to Santiago. Thanks!

You have to choose the Direct Transport option, and I believe that you need to book and pay in advance. They will pick up from hotels that have a reception desk, but I chose to drop it off at their Lisbon drop off site, Binaclinica. I chose the Loop Inn (formerly Hostal Lasalle) delivery point in Santiago which has a 24/7 reception ddesk, so that you can pick up whenever you want. This is the sane location that Express Bouricott uses to deliver bags that are shipped from SJPDP to Santiago.
