Time of past OR future Camino
May (2018) Portuguese,trying to decide on central or coast route
just curious if a map is essential for the portuguese central route. or just follow the backpacks yeah?

Plenty of signs. And a lot of backpacks too. If you are feeling anxious and use a smartphone you could always download one of the Camino guide apps that ties in to Google Maps or use a gps track with offline mapping. Available free online.
