New peril on the Pisuerga River?

Time of past OR future Camino
Twice walked from St Jean to Estella and once from Sarria to Santiago. Maybe someday I'll find the time to do the entire walk.
I've found the time. Just completed SJPP to Santiago. 25 Aug to 1st Oct, 2016.
And now the Portuguese from Lisbon.
Don't be taking the opportunity to cool your feet in this river until this mystery is cleared up. Witnesses, including a police officer, have reported sightings of a crocodile .

I passed through Herrera de Pisuerga on the Camino Lebaniego-Castellano a couple of years ago. It is the world centre of the crayfish, and obsessed with them - there is a large statue of a crayfish on the centre of town, many bars and restaurants with their own special ways of cooking them, a Casa de Cangrejos interpretation centre/museum, and an annual Fiesta de Exaltación del Cangrejo de Río which, sadly, I missed by several months.

Perhaps one of their crayfish got over exaltacion-ed and mutated into a giant one and swam downstream?

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
