The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
I walked Frances May-June.
bota bag - had plastic 0,75 l bottles 1 for water and 1 for wine. Lighter and easy to carry. Also 1 0,3l bottle that is small enough to fit under a low tap like most hand washing sinks have. Fill the small bottle, fill into the bigger, repeat. Water from tap is safe. Also from fuentes in village squares (non drinking water has warning signs) and you can ask at the bar to refill your bottle, no charge for that. Therefore no need for First Need XLE Elite Water Purifier;
water 2l
- lots of places to refill, had about a liter, never used all of it;
insect repellant - there were some insects, but not as a problem. Tiger balm / lavanda was enough;
space blanket - if you want to annoy others at the albergue;
spork - had a very tiny plastic spoon for occasional yogurt and didn't need anything else;
snake syringe - what even is that? And what for? Google only gives instructions how to feed baby snakes with a syringe. Don't run after wildlife and it will leave you in peace. With the heavy pilgrim traffic along the way all snakes have run away long ago;
head lamp - if you don't plan to walk at night, no need for it, doesn't help with packing in the morning anyway and there are either emergency lights or street lights shining through a window if you need a little light at night to go to toilet;
spot remover ????? Soap bar;
liq.soap - soap bar. Lighter and lasts longer;
