Planning for Camino Frances May-June 2019
Hi,

I'm planning to walk el Camino de Santiago starting in May. I'm trying to find a bus or train to get from Pamplona to SJPDP but every site I go on says no routes even if I use a few days from now as the departing days. I've read a few places that there's a bus that runs that route 3 times a day so I'm wondering, if that's the case, why can't I find any scheduled routes? Is it off season so no buses are running right now?

I don't want to take a taxi and pay a bunch.

Thank you for the help!

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

There is no train, and buses can be seasonal. So, it is reasonable to not see a schedule listed now. Also, most bus lines only post schedules perhaps 60 days in advance anyway.

I recommend you try www.rome2rio.com for a start on available travel methods between Pamplona and SJPdP.

Hope this helps.

Thank you!

What Tom said on the bus scheduling. Know that the number of Conda/ALSA buses running between Pamplona and SJPDP varies between 0 and 4 depending on the time of year. In May I would expect at least two.

We took a taxi from the Pamplona Train Station. Cost Approx 100E. We had four guys in the car so 25 each. ride took about 90minutes. Not a road for someone who is subject to car sickness.

You can get a bus to San Sebastian, then from there to St. Jean. No problem.
