Pilgrim Passport from Castro-Urdiales?

Hi I am starting my first Camino from Castro-Urdiales 10th August 2019, not sure I have time to order a pilgrim passport online. Will I be able to pick one up from the tourist office in Castro-Urdiales or perhaps there is somewhere near the bus station in Bilbao? Thanks!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Lots (but not all) of the municipal albergues will sell you a credencial. If you check the albergues on Gronze, under "servicios" they'll tell you whether or not they "expiden la credencial". Unfortunately the albergue in Castro Urdiales does not seem to provide this service. FYI, it's also a tiny albergue (only 16 beds), so in August you're unlikely to get a bed unless you're there very early.

In Bilbao you'd need to get your credencial at the municipal albergue, which is about 2km from the bus station. According to Gronze, the next stops for the credencial are Portugalete and Pobena.

Edit: just checked on Google maps, and they're saying there's a 1.2km route to the albergue from Bilbao bus station. The albergue is on the outskirts of the city, however, and you'd have to cross some very busy roads and highways, so I'm not sure of the feasibility of this, but I'll attach a screenshot just in case. The albergue only opens at 15h00.

10th August?

Order online and save yourself any struggles. It is enough time I think.

We missed the office in Bilbao this year so got one at the alburgue in portugalete

Thanks for the detailed reply, so helpful i have booked a place in Castro-U for the first night and was planning on either a bus or taxi to there so I will see if i can stop at pobena on the way and also check gronze.com for next possible after C-U as that appears to be a great resource!

OP is in New Zealand... not sure whether there's a pilgrim association there?
Not yet! I did message the Aussie group and you need to be a member to get the passport which is fine, but I am happy to pick one up over there.
