Primitivo in July?

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Any thoughts on the Primitivo in July. Weather, crowds etc. Completed Frances. Thanks

Haven't walked Primitivo yet but I know wherever in the world you are weather is just that, the weather, who can really prognose it? Crowds? Walk it as soon as possible because the word already spread and more and more people walking it every year

Happy planning!

Hi Tom, I walked the Primitivo in September/October, so I can't advise on the likely weather or crowds in July. It's a fantastic Camino and quite a different experience to the Camino Francés. It's physically challenging, but well worth the effort. As @KinkyOne has said, you'll find lots of useful threads in the Camino Primitivo sub-forum.

Happy planning and Buen Camino!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
You can get an idea of the weather by choosing a weather website that allows look back at historical data. There are probably better ones, but I was familiar with accuweather so used them. for instance http://www.accuweather.com/en/es/lugo/305117/month/305117?monyr=7/01/2016 shows this past July in Lugo and historical averages. You could go back a couple of years, and look at the averages...but still keep an eye on the weather as your time approaches because some years are the exception to the rule. Planning on dressing in layers no matter what helps...all of my shirts were short sleeved, with runners arm warmers to use if sleeves were required. I had a lot of layer things because I walked in colder months, but I think lows in the 50's are cold (what it is in Jul by history). Anyway, check out the weather for the larger cities along the way to get an idea of weather and clothing.
Buen Camino (shhhh, Primitivo, keep the secret)
