Time of past OR future Camino
Lots done and more to do!
hi,
I was hoping to do the primitivo from ortivo in the autumn. When is the beat time in your opinion. I am looking for a quieter Camino where there is no issues with accommodation yet also when there is still some heat max about 22c. no rain would be nice too ☺ . Is early October too late? Mid September better?

thanks

I would also like to hear about the primitivo weather in Sept/Oct. Anyone!

thanks

My first walk on the Salvador/Primitivo was in fall. We left León in late September, and I distinctly remember that the temperature sign at the farmacia said 6 degrees. I was glad to have my lambswool gloves, but was fine with my standard camino wardrobe of long sleeve shirt, lightweight fleece, and rain/wind jacket.

There was snow in the higher altitudes, but never anything close to where we were. I didn't walk the Hospitales route that year, but people who did said it was totally clear. My weather in 2008 is no guarantee for your weather in 2017, of course, but I think it is likely to be a very good time to walk.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I walked last week in September into October last year and had beautiful weather except for one evening of rain in Berducedo. Luckily clear and sunny over the Hospitales route.
Arrived in Melide to pouring rain though and on and off to Santiago.

Hi Simeon,

I always walk in May and October. The weather is generally better in October.
Last October on the Primitivo the weather was warm and sunny apart from a couple of obligatory wet days once in Galicia.
Don't expect it to be all that quiet though.

Buen Camino
