I'm hoping someone from the States can help me understand the re-entry protocol from Spain into the US. Essentially I am wondering, since a neg test result is required for re-entry, what happens if one tests positive? Obviously they wont let you fly, but what do the local authorities require? Do you enter quarantine in a designated location or are you required to stay in a hotel room for a period of time, or are you on your own to find a place to stay until you test negative? I understand the expenses would be mine to incur wrt staying but what about rebooking? And if you are traveling with family can the family rebook with you due to COVID or must they keep their original booking and thereby leave the COVID positive family member behind and alone?

Our travel insurance covers Covid quarantine expenses this year so check your plan if you have one.. There are a few threads under the Covid section of the forum from those who had to quarantine. Also may depend on where you are when you test. (Galicia, Madrid, Paris, Porto, etc) Different regions have more or fewer supports.
