Can anyone suggest good places to get an Altus and other last minute/forgotten Camino necessities in Barcelona and/or Pamplona?

Muchas gracias!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

If you are at the bus terminal , cross the street north of the citadel and walk about 1/2 blocks. On your right there is a sporting goods store that sells all of the tech. Stuff. Also there is a large department store across the street which has all kinds of quality outdoor gear and equipment. If you want a folding bike, they have them as well. They are similar to most department stores found in big cities. I can not remember the name, but I did pick up some merino socks there last year. Caminoteca is also a good source. It is about a twenty minute walk on the north side of the square. Buen camino

You can also try the sporting goods department in the usually HUGE el Corte Ingles department stores. There is one in the center of Barcelona, near the Ramblas. There is one in Pamplona, sort of near the bus station.

Along the Camino, you can find them in Burgos, Leon, and Santiago. But by the time you get to Santiago, you usually do not need hiking gear. Their merchandising and inventory reflects this.

Earlier on, further east on the Camino, and at Barcelona, expect to find a fairly comprehensive assortment of gear. It is NOT as extensive as Decathlon, but I usually can find any last minute item there.

I hope this helps.

There is also a Decathalon store in Barcelona, only about 100 metres from the El Corte Ingles store but in a semi back street so ask a local shopkeeper (they all speak English) where it is. The Decathalon stores are usually cheaper and are more like supermarkets, and the El Corte Inglis are more upmarket, with more staff and help and but less selection.
