Another place on the way up to Roncesvalles on the Napoleon route is the Ferme Ithurburia in the Hunto area of Saint Michael.

A nice place to stop on the Valcarlos alternate route is the pilgrim albergue in Valcarlos .
They take reservations. There are also regular tourist accommodations in Valcarlos/Luzaide. See this list for more info.

Hello,
Thank you for your recomodation. What route would you recomend for me and my mother who is 74? She is very fit for her age.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
I would suggest the Valcarlos alternate route. On this you walk through the mountain pass and not over the mountain. It is also the original route through the Pyrenees. By the way I too am in my 70's and have always followed this route up to Ibaneta and Roncesvalles.

Good luck and Buen camino to you both,

Margaret Meredith

Margaret, as usual, is absolutely correct-they take the high road and you take the low road...
