Time of past OR future Camino
first in summer 2014
Im starting on my Camino Portugues (from Porto) at 24th of July. I already have my credential, so I was thinking to start from airport write away (to the first stop at the end of the day).

Do you have any suggestions regarding that?

Thanks!

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Welcome to the forum Aja, there are several here who have walked this Camino and will give great advise. Have a great Camino.
Bom Caminho.

Yes. Start in Porto. You'll miss a beautifull part alongside the river Douro and if you choose for the coastal trip to Vila do Conde ,a beautifull walk along the Atlantic Ocean. Worthwhile

By the way Porto is a beautiful town worthwhile to visit.

From Vila do Conde you can choose to follow the coast to Esposende ,Viana do Castelo Caminha and so on to Vigo and Redondela where you pick up the interior route to São Pedro de Rates, Barcelos, Ponte de Lima to Valença and Tui to Santiago.
Between Barcelos and Ponte de Lima in Vitorino dos Piaës is the best lodging ,casa da Fernanda. Don't miss it if you choose for the interior route

Bom caminho

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
Thanks everybody
I have a return flight also from Porto, so I thought, that I would enjoy Porto the last few days at the end of my Caminho (till the returnt flight).

Bom caminho Aja. I recently completed the camino Portuguese. You can find lots of useful information in my blog.

Is there anyone who starts on the same day?

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
which first stop do you reccomend?

If you start from the airport as you wrote before, than your first stop will probably the albergue of São Pedro de Rates.
So you will walk through the very busy and dangerous infrastructure north of Porto.
Take your safetyvest with you !
Bom caminho
