Taxis along the way between Astorga and Ponferrada

Does anyone know if it's possible to take taxis along the way between Astorga and Ponferrada? I'm not even sure how close to a drivable road the camino is... And if I'm flaking out and the refugio is full and I need a nice bed and shower - how do I call a taxi to come and rescue me?? My mobile phone? Phone at the nearest refugio? Would just like the comfort of knowing that there is a safety net! Any advice appreciated.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
It is possible to take a taxi between Astorga and Ponferrada via Rabanal etc. The Camino is very close to the road for much of the way and on it for some.

If you want to get a taxi: take your mobile phone, note the number of a taxi firm in Astorga and if your Spanish is not up to it ask a passing Spanish pilgrim to phone for you. Having said all that you will not need one, the route is not difficult and there are plenty of places where you can stop and break the journey into smaller legs if necessary.
