How do I get from Madrid to St Jean Pied de Port?

I'm hiking in April and need to buy a sleeping bag... should I buy a 30 degree bag... or something warmer?

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Hi Meg and welcome to the forum!

(...by the way, there are some many new members these days, that I do not have time to welcome everyone.... so, Welcome all!)

How do I get from Madrid to St Jean Pied de Port?

We had a thread about how to get from Madrid to Logrõno earlier that might be of some help:

...and then one to St Jean Pied de Port from Pamplona or from Roncesvalles
viewtopic.php?t=284

I know that this is not what you asked for, but I hope you can find some useful informatio there.
