Last year while walking the Saint Francés route I got very sick and had to return home. We made it as far as Logrono. September 17th 2018 we want to continue our walk. Does anyone know what the options are and the quickest way to travel from Heathrow Airport to Logrono?

There are several BA and Iberia flights daily from Heathrow via Madrid to Logrono.

I respectfully agree with mspath. You don't say where you are coming from, but, even if you can't get a direct flight to Madrid from your home country, you should be able to get one via Heathrow.

From Madrid Airport, ALSA run frequent services to Logroño with a journey time of 3h 45. It's a nice trip, too!

A good tip is to join the ALSAPLUS loyalty programme - it's free, and you can often get substantial discounts on seats. Don't forget to tell them if you're over 60 - that also gets a discount.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
British Airways also does daily direct flights Heathrow-Bilbao. BA, Vueling (and possibly others) also do the route from other London airports.

Logrono is only 2 hours by bus from Bilbao. I know that Cuadrabus definitely do the route and I've heard Alsa and Bizkaibus do it too, but I'm not sure. There are also a couple of trains per day.

In early October I arrived at LHR early evening, had a meal with my London family then flew LHR to MAD. About 01h took an ALSA bus from MAD terminal direct to Logrono bus station, arriving about sunrise. All pre-booked well before I left home.

Rather than Rome2Rio or any other planning guide I looked at the websites for Madrid and Bilbao airports to find landings that might suit.

I've done this. It's very easy.

Fly BA to Bilbao, take the airport shuttle to the bus station, then the Alsa bus to Logrono.

If you get the 8.20am flight you'll be in Logrono by around 3pm.

There are also trains from Bilbao to Logrono, but actually take longer than the bus.

Just to confuse you, it's actually ALVABUS from Bilbao to Logroño!
