Dear friends,
I should begin by telling both of you that this is my first ever reply to an answer on any forum ever, so if there's a protocol that I've missed, please forgive me!
Many thanks for your thoughts on my transfer from Barajas to Salamanca and beyond. I have been wrong footed by the extremely limited bus service serving the area to the south of Salamanca. When I booked my flights that are via Heathrow, I realised that I would just miss the 13.00 Avanza bus from the airport as my flight arrives at 13.20, so I've already bought an online ticket for the 15.00 departure. This is a service that I have used previously and am familiar with departure locations etc. The suggestion to head into Madrid where the frequency of express departures is greater might be an option, but by the time I get to the bus station, I doubt there'll will be much benefit.
Im almost too embarrassed to tell you this, but I am so keen to get to Hervas on my travelling day that I even got in touch with a taxi firm to ask costs, but that's a no no! I was quoted 97 euros! Salamanca is one of the most beautiful cities in Spain, so I will just have to spend a night indulging in the richness of this great city and head to Hervas in the morning. We Vdlp pelegrinos just have an allergy to walking south I suppose!
Laurie, I see from the forum that you have recently been on the VdlP and have much enjoyed reading your posts.
Thanks again for your advice.
Neil
