Trouble deciding route

Hi All,
I have all of september this year to walk (and a little in August if needed), originally I wanted the Frances route but it sounds as though it will be crazy busy. Many people have mentioned the north but it seems to get such mixed reviews. I do enjoy the sea but also like forests etc etc I was also thinking about going on the North and then onto the Primitivo?
I like a mixture of walking alone and socialising...i would not want to spend every day alone i dont think.
My Spanish we will be alomost non existent (I will try but very bad at languages) and as I am travelling alone would the North be a bit tricky, I want a challenge but do not want to be lost and miserable for weeks !
Any opinions greatly appreciated

I walked the Northern route last June. Ithought that it was well marked. I don't think you'd be lost nor miserable. There will be plenty of people on most routes so you shouldn't be lonely either. The Northern route is quite beautiful--I think there is more natural beauty on that route than on the Frances but I guess opinions would vary on that. There are some forested bits as well. I do speak Spanish but met loads of people who did not and they seemed to get on just fine. Good luck to you in whichever route you choose.

Hi Jason, I left Irun last August 24th and arrived in SDC on 27th Sept. I walked along the Camino del Norte and then truned off and did the Primitivo. At no stage was I alone if I didn't want to be, and indeed there were so many at one stage on the del norte that I decided to do the Primitivo instead of continuing along the coast. Even on the Primitivo, most albergues were full every night - although in this case it was primarily Spanish pilgrims with a couple of long distance people like myself and a few french people. I speak neither french nor spanish, but was able to communicate with most people. kind reagrads, Janet

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Crickey and that was last year. I am seriously considering a lightweight tent this year, things sound as though they may get a little crazy on the accommodation front!
