Time of past OR future Camino
Twice walked from St Jean to Estella and once from Sarria to Santiago. Maybe someday I'll find the time to do the entire walk.
I've found the time. Just completed SJPP to Santiago. 25 Aug to 1st Oct, 2016.
And now the Portuguese from Lisbon.
Has anyone ever taken the detour to have a look at it? Does it offer accommodation, shops, or cafes?

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

Even if i was hungry I don't think I'd walk 2 km to get to a bread shop.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
I walked that stretch three times but never detour to this village although it looked nice from a distance. Same from the train (this year) from SdC to Leon. Well, maybe next time

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
I wondered about Villamarco too when I passed it!

Strangely, a town I didn't visit occupies a lot of my thoughts about the Camino. I guess because it reminds me of some of the small towns here at home.

Doing a virtual tour on google street view shows that they do have a bar/cafe.

There is an active facebook group for the town

A few posts down, it is asking for name suggestions for a new albergue!

On my Camino, I felt so rushed that I didn't take the time to visit Villamarco, but hopefully, if I make it back next year, it will be a can't miss town!

Same here. And this year I am avoiding El Burgo Ranero altogether so.... I guess there will have to be a next time?

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
