Voltage in Spain

I am from the U.S. and I purchased a plug adapter, but do I need a voltage converter for Spain? I don't think so because the input voltage on my camera and phone battery charger is listed as 100 to 240 volts. Since the voltage in Spain is 220, they should work there. Am I right about that?

No need for a voltage converter - unless your Gillette shaver is a old as mine is

As a person who has sold adapters and incredibly heavy transformers etc. you only need to turn your two prong, with or without ground, to the plug that works in all of Europe, but not the UK. Two round rod like terminals. Easy peasy. And a lot lighter.

But here is a trick if you need it. Take a 1 to 3 receptacle. Plug the 220 into the wall, plug the multi receptacle into that and then plyug in your phone charger, camera charger, laptop charger and go for supper.

For most items that get charged with USB or USB-like connections you will not need a voltage transformer just a plug adapter. And the plug adapter most likely need only be a 2 pin/prong one, not a 3 pin/prong grounded version (heavier and more expensive.) This is likely all that 99% of North Americans will need on the camino, a type C (pin) to type A (prong) adapter:

I think the round holes are for some weird type of Thai plug.

You may wish to tape your charger to the adaptor so you won't leave the adaptor behind still plugged into the outlet (the voice of experience is speaking here.)

You can buy an adaptor there or you can get one from the Rick Steves's website store for $1

I should have mentioned this earlier ... if you do lose the adapter on the camino don't waste your time looking for another, the Europeans don't need them after all. Just look for a new charger with the correct pins, like the one that Peter has shown. They will be available everywhere and will be cheap enough.

I bought a dual USB European plug charger on Amazon. If you do use an adapter tape it to your charger so that you don't forget it. I saw on left in an outlet in an albergue this morning.

I wouldn't leave anything valuable in the albergue while I went to supper.
