We Are Invincible!
I am leaving in another month, April 6th, for Vezelay, with great expectation and hopes and many memories of previous pilgrimages. Many are very pleasant many are curious bordering on downright curious! Just to share-Today, there is a much more sharp awareness of health needs for those walking, those with celiac requirements, those with sleep apnea, and many who's concerns are only vegetarian. Usually surmountable. The Confraternity authorities in Spain and more so in France, see no real problem in sending we pilgrims to march along, underneath, and alongside buzzing high tension wires-not worried? Your cellphone probably won't work. Radon may be found in all the places where pilgrims frequent-underpasses, tunnel walkways, church crypts, monastery rooms-no worry, we are invincible! One last thought, the Camino in both Spain and France almost invariably leads one into or out of settlements by the main road leading past their cemeteries. The grave monuments in Galicia are particularly striking and shrine-like, actually quite beautiful

Perhaps we are guided there in order to develop a better sense of humility and thoughtfulness-there is more to the Camino then worries over which albergue, how many kilometers, and what’s for supper. Buen Camino, Bon Marche and, דרך צלחה ! One month to go! We are invincible!

Buen Camino Scruffy! I'm sure you'll have a truly lovely trip once again.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
