I like how this forum has keep me informed . Thank you to everyone for keeping the dream alive.
I am kicking around the idea of starting in SJPP at the end of October and walking for a month .
Not sure of the weather that time of year . Any thoughts ?
Also , wondering about refugio closings etc. at that time of year?
What extra clothing should I take with me?
I guess that's all I can think of at the moment.
Cheers
Astelle

You could have cold, clear weather, or you could have snow, blizzards and white outs!
The Esprit du Chemin auberg in St Jean closes at the end of September but you can book a bed at the Auberg de Pelerin which closes end of October. http://www.aubergedupelerin.com
Orisson is also open until end of October.

You might find that a number of albergues close at the end of September so check your guide book before making plans on where to stay.
