Prompted by another recent thread which questioned the value of an app which had few recent reviews might I encourage those with positive experiences of Wisepilgrim (and other) apps to take a few seconds to leave a suitable review wherever you bought it from? It can be as simple as clicking on a...
Hello everyone 😊. Well the selfie stick I bought over three years ago for my cancelled Camino in 2020, is not compatible with my bigger phone. Since then I’ve gone from an iPhone 8 to 14 max pro. The pictures and or videos were to be for family and friends and myself (musings on the Meseta...
Hola! We leave from St Jean Pied de Port on April 1. So almost packed and ready to go!
Does anyone have any feedback on the Wise Pilgrim Camino Frances App (the paid version). Is it worth buying, reviews seem to be quite old!
Gracias. Buen Camino
Edit: thanks everyone i have purchased the app...
Help! I want to message an albergue. I've been on the internet and they tell me to open the app and click on the green icon on the bottom of my screen. I don't see it - I'm on iPhone. How do I enter the phone number?
I've read some great information about eSim cards in Spain for Androids. I just bought an iPhone 13 and will be in France for a Camino in May and part of June. My carrier (Verizon) can sell me a travel pass for a month or day by day but that's pretty costly. Any suggestions?
A recent thread entitled "Pilgrim rescued near Valcarlos" has some important pilgrim safety information that I wanted to share with you.

Shortly afterwards @dougfitz commented that the lost pilgrim's phone may not have been a smartphone. Then, as...
I have not used WhatsApp before. I am trying to see if a bed is available on requested date. I used the WhatsApp helper function to translate my request automatically. I sent the request - how do you know if the request went through? I have tried adding albergue to contact list and without. I...
Hi all,
I am trying to do some route planning for the Camino. Starting on the Frances, San Salvador and Primitivo. I have used GaiaGPS in the past for hiking in the US. I have not found a good layer for doing snap-to-trail route planning. I assume I'm using the wrong layer - but what layer...
We are hiking the Camino Frances this spring and would like to be able use our cell phones. Xfinity says we will lose our credit on our iphones if we get sim cards in Spain (we are still paying off the devices). The international travel plan thru Xfinity is $10/day. Will we be able to use our...
Hello! I couldn’t find a category that seemed to fit this topic, so I am posting to this forum. Sorry if it’s the wrong forum.
The last time I walked the CF, I had an app that guided me wonderfully along the Camino. It showed my position on the map of the CF and once saved me from making a...
Hello everyone: I'm walking the Camino Frances in June 2023 ... my first time on a camino and I'm really looking forward to my pilgrimage. I have an iphone 8 and wondering whether anyone can suggest an App to use for booking albergues etc.? Cheers from Winnipeg, Canada!
I'm doing the Portuguese Camino from Lisbon and then from Santiago to Muxia in July and August 2023. During my walk I will require about 10 Gb per month internet connection. To save weight, I prefer to only buy a simcard (to be used in both Portugal and Spain) and insert it in my current dual...

Sorry for what seems an obvious question, but is Gronze only a website and not an app?

I am probably going to use Polarsteps as an easy way to keep a photo journal and keep friends and family posted on my whereabouts without getting onto social media every day. That way I can do a semi-digital detox and also spend less time organizing and printing photos later, too. I have two...
Who is behind Gronze.com? This resource is likely the most often mentioned on this forum. I’m thinking it’s time to do a shout out to the developers who keep it up to date year after year.
