For me thats a no brainer we have been staying at the Costa Vella for the last 5 years excellent is too weak a term.

Costa Vella is indeed a fine hotel with a lovely garden for an afternoon tea/coffe/wine break. This hotel shares the problem of many hotels close-in to the cathedral, they are usually fully booked well in advance. Costa Vella may be reserved here:
https://www.costavella.com/en
or try booking.com for any other but reserve as soon as you are sure of your arrival date, wandering around the little streets and back alleys of SdC looking for a room can be frustrating.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
Pension Hortas at rua Hortas, 200 metres from cathedral but quiet street, on the way to Finisterre and around corner new pilgrim's office.

Pension Via Stellae at Praza de Mazarelos. Nice and clean like the first one, but on a more lively and therefore more noise plaza.

An alternative, not for you as you have a room, is San Martin Pineiro, you need to reserve by email/phone to get their special pilgrim rooms in the fourth floor (28 Euro including breakfast). The rooms are simple but clean and you can't be the price/location combo. BC SY
