I had posed the question about being Jewish and keeping kosher on the Camino. Thanks to all of you who responded. I just finished. Actually, as I write, I’m drinking a glass of Spanish wine in a cafe in the old town. I found absolutely no trouble in keeping kosher. I mostly ate out of grocery stores and picnicked along the way. Keeping kosher was no problem.
On to another question. The trip was absolutely amazing. However the arrival into the Cathedral square with the tour groups, giagantic bus lines shuttling tourists in and out, and to top it off three continuous “tourists trains.” I get it, it’s a tourist economy. But in my moment of completion it was not what I was expecting.
I finished up on a great note however. I just returned from Fisterra. That was the perfect end and excellent beginning to my post Camino. Buen Camino to all. I hope to return next year. -Gigi
