Thanks for your comment. I double-checked the photo details--this was taken on April 20, about 20minutes after leaving Villarmayor de Montjardin in the morning after breakfast. It might be the only shade of the day! The open expanse of grain fields later in the day are far more memorable, I think, especially in June.
On our 2nd Camino in 2017 we started the day in Cirraqui and bypassed Estella taking the woodland route (we'd been to Estella on the first Camino). We stopped (too long) at Irache and intended to make the short walk to the village before Monjardin to end the day. Unfortunately, no Albergue's were available so we walked on to Monjardin. To our dismay, everything was booked solid there too. So we were faced with a very long day, in the hot sun to the next stop Los Arcos. What a day. It was the only time in two Caminos where we had any lodging issues.
