I’m was in the same spot.. coming into Marrid and trying to figure out how to get to Sarria-
1) check the trains from Madrid into Sarria..—altho your Title says “Santiago to Sarria”?
2) or stay overnight in Madrid and leave the next day to Sarria on the earliest train.. but.. you prob can’t check into an albergues/hotel yet.
3) fly into Santiago -/do send the day there/overnight.. then the next day catch the once a day 11am bus from Santiago to Sarria.
I looked into a a” car hire/car service/taxi” taking me from Santiago airport to Sarria— it’s pretty far— the car ride is like 90 minutes.. and I got quotes from €175-375.
I as in the same spot- I used to losing a day in travel.. I’m on the WestCoast of USA.. but before start my Camino I’mcoming from Florence, Italy…. And I'm still losing a day-ish
I’ll arrive at Madrid—by 11am.. catch a Ryanair to Santiago arrive by 4pm.. I just got a hotel overnight in Santiago… maybe go see a mass, wander the town- have a nice meal.. get a good nights sleep (single room was on €65 fir one night- much cheaper than a car service)- then I will take the “11-am-once a day bus to Sarria—get my stamps I need.. and run 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️as fast as I can to Potomarin.. where I booked a hotel room… because—who know what time I’ll arrive -
Please let me know if you figure anything else out..🫶🏻🫶🏻

Wow!! I have an overnight in Santiago after the walk and are booked into sarria the first night so need to get up there. I have two trains to get to London and a overnight as the plane is early but still miss the 11 o’clock bus to sarria. Idea would be 4 or more people sharing a taxi. I’ll work it out when I arrive in Santiago. Thanks for your reply and have a great Camino.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

Who knew getting there would be so complicated?
Once I finish-I take the train from Santiago to Madrid (on Renfe at 10am or so-it’s a 3 hr train with a few stops - not a direct train - then I still need to spend a day in Madrid - because the train leaves at 10 am and my flight out of Madrid is 6am or Noon.. but I can catch either with only a 10am departure from Santiago 😝—while in Madrid - the next step is getting a hotel that has a shuttle to the airport 🤞🤞
Even tho is this crazy— it’s going to be an incredible adventure— enjoy your Camino too👣👣👣🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
