Jay_Walker replied to the thread Post-camino fitness.
I think this explains a great deal of it. The VlpD is not particularly hilly and so I probably lost some aerobic fitness. I also likely overdid it, however since I was walking alone I didn't want to take 40-50 days to complete the camino. Live...

I just finished the VdlP. 1,000km averaging 30km/day over 34 days and 2 rest days. It was challenging - blisters, foot pain and 3 days before SdC I developed shin splints but I was in good shape when I started. It's about 10 days since I...

There were many times I had to run the gamut of cattle on the VdlP. I was always extremely cautious and wary giving lots of space and avoiding calves. When possible I waited for other pilgrims. There was another recent case where pilgrims were...

The plan is to stay in Oseira Thursday leaving Friday morning. You can avoid Oseira all together by taking the left branch at Cea. I'll probably just join a few pilgrims leaving Oseira for the first hour or so as suggested by Gerald and others.

I'm heading that way in a week. I may have to take the other route to avoid this situation.

A third person reported a similar incident in response to the FB post you mentioned.

Jay_Walker reacted to peregrina2000's post in the thread Oseira Monestery with Like Like.
The night I spent in the Oseira monastery (which was at that time the coldest, clammiest place on the planet), there was a cyclist who arrived to spend some time in the monastery itself for a multi-day retreat. Their web page describes their...

Has anyone stayed at the Monestery lately. I recall reading somewhere that you can stay in the Monestery (not albergue) if you stay a minimum of 2 nights. I'm wondering what the experience is like. Are you expected to meditate? Or can you move...
