I have three pair of REI "cargo" pants with zip-offs that I rotate for hiking. They have abundant pockets and are quick-dry. I usually take two pair on Camino. Not a favorite of the fashion police, but work for me. Never had the irritation issue.

It took me 45 days without walking to recover when I got back to my country and they considered I was really lucky. It could have been a lot worse.
Think of nervousness as excitement instead. change your point of view and listen to the replies to your prayers. open mind, open heart, and excitement is a wonderful mixture of what it is to be alive!

I am 68 and walked solo Porto to Santiago. I got so much wrong, but so much right too. I had trained - somewhat.

Is that right 1.2 lbs (544grams) is enormous! (same as my jacket ,kilt, gaiters and ultra light umbrella all together)
Don't do overkill it's a struggle cos we always think of the what ifs!!
