I would have to ask where are you coming from? There is no train from Spain.
The rail gauges are different! Cf Canfranc for Somport crossing on Arles/ Aragones route and Hendaye on Northern route.
The railway track from Bayonne to SJPdP was taken out by severe storms and flooding a few years...
My only concern for you is that the day after Fonsegrada is a "leg wrecker" at the best of times. (remember the climb into Fonsegrada) You might not be fit for the ascents and descents. And after Covid you will be surprised how heavy your legs feel and how breathless you might be on the climbs...
3 pilgrims hope to fly to BIARRITZ and travel to st jean de Luz to start walking the next day.
Those of you who have walked from there or irun, what advice have you about traveling through San Sebastian?
David, my advice is book now. There are only 14 beds. And everything you have heard is true. And there is no WiFi. So if you need to answer lots of “important” emails don’t go there! and though Fernanda takes reservations this extraordinary woman finds an occasional pilgrim passing who needs her...
I will now be travelling with 3 people I met last year. We have a taxi booked from the airport to Le Puy for €180. Travelling in style to our destination! The real advantage is arriving two hours earlier than the trail and having time to get our bearings.

I shared a pilgrim's meal one...

I came face to face with...
How many do you call "lots" ?
So if there are how many at the pilgrims mass before we feel under pressure? 20, 50,100?
I will be starting on a Tuesday morning, and in a group of 4. Should I panic now? Or wait until Monday evening 1st of September when we arrive in le Puy. We have already done...
There is talk of making O'Sullivan Bere's march from dursey island to Leitrim village a long distance walk. I would like to do that !
O'Sullivan Bere became a knight of the order of Santiago after his defeat in kinsale and his march to his ally in Leitrim.
36 Upper Baggot Street, Dublin 4
This is the postal address of the Irish Society of Friends of St James
And if you write to Betty Tuite and enclose ? €10 she will send you the lovely Irish passport.
You can get it at mass in St James church but I am not sure of the times. It is a lovely...
