Hi I’m a seasoned walker And 71, 5 ft and small frame. Go light every time. Adding water and some fruit will quickly add the extra. Just make sure it fits well. Heavy can spoil the walk.
We walked from Arles to OSM last year in early April. From OSM we walked to Lourdes. We have walked many of the pilgrim routes and the three days we spent walking from OSM to Lourdes was absolutely beautiful and so peaceful.
We have walked from Arles to Oloron. We then walked to Lourdes. The walk from Oloron to Lourdes was simply the most beautiful. We have walk many Vaminos over the last 10 years and the three days we spent - staying with Father Arnaud in Arundy and then at a chambre d’hôtes in. the far...
Haha. I know. We walked in 2018 and are starting again in 4 days. We are Australian. Last trip we caught the train from Gimont to Auch. Stayed in L’Isle de Noe then to Christaud - a donativo Gîte run by lovely woman Joanna. Gîte de la Barranque. Think she has gone now. Now...
Hi, we are seniors (69 and 74). We completed Le Puy in early May this year. We had done it in 2014. Like you we don’t walk in the heat - even though we are Australians - in fact we had 4 days of snow on the Aubrac Plateau. We left Le Puy on the 24th March. We did Del Norte in 2015 the...
Yes we are Aussies and have just finished Le Puy to SJPDP. Had a snake on the track. Jumped 2 feet in the air. Luckily it was very cold and the snake moved slowly
Thanks so much for your response. And yes I know Easter will be a problem. We hope to plan this trip as tightly as we can and not just wing it as we normally do. We will definitely be keeping a close eye on your excellent spread sheet.
Thanks again
Anne
Hi Dave. This is fantastic thank you and appreciate all the work you have put in. It’s amazing.
We are Aussies and are desperate to get back walking. Our last trip was in 19 where we walked the st Francis of Assisi path Florence to Rome which I could highly recommend. It’s a little...
Thanks. Will check it out. After the walk there we could bus back to Pau then walk through Lescar (we remember a wonderful Gîte there) to continue on the original route through to Puenta la Reina. Are there any other variations you could recommend? Anne.
Thanks once again. Will follow through with info.
Isn’t it amazing how when you are walking wonderful things happen like the music festival you experienced. Our cruising friends just don’t get it. Happy walking for your next trek. Anne
Terrible what that carafe can do. Has happened to us. However very pleasant. Thanks for all of this. Will be travelling with 18 year old grandson (challenging) so appreciate all this info. We have found locals very obliging. Thanks once again.
