    Pilgrim "customs"?

A few years ago it was customary to take a least one picture of your shadow while on the road. Is it still being done?

Camino Ucles —144 km into Madrid

Hi Lar, Here is everything you need to know concerning the Camino de Ucles. https://www.caminodesantiago.me/community/attachments/ucles-guide-pdf.69706/ I recommend it. Where there's no pilgrim accommodation you can find very cheap hostales. This camino is a gem.

Hi Don, Thanks for the note. Sorry to hear about your sister and your foot problem. I hope that you can still enjoy physical activities of some sort. I was out on some interesting walks in the last three years: Austria, Hungary and of course Spain. Everything is on hold for now including winters...

    Has Anyone Walked this Camino?

Hi! As mentionned by @biarritzdon, I have walked this route as descriped on the map you've attached to your original post. The route is very well marked with red arrows and a special identifier on white posts. Accommodation is readily available. It's easy walking along the canal from Palencia up...

COVID Manuel Rossi recovering from COVID-19

Maria and Manuel are dear friends totally dedicated to the Camino de Uclés. I was very sad to see them in such a difficult situation caused by the Coronavirus. Fortunately, they are getting better and will make it back stronger than ever. I wish them a quick recovery and give them the biggest...

Camino Ucles —144 km into Madrid

As indicated by @OzAnnie and @JabbaPapa above, there is not train to Uclés. The best way is by train or bus to Tarancon or Cuenca from Madrid and then by bus to Uclés. Enjoy!

Camino Ucles —144 km into Madrid

Either way works well Alan. For having done it twice, Madrid-Uclés was perfect for me. I make it back to Madrid by bus by way of Cuenca. Cheers!

Guide to the Camino de Uclés — in Spanish and English

I must specify that it's not on regular road asphalt for the most part but on hard surface on bike ways. It's a very quiet camino away from traffic and noise. Thanks for bringing this subject up and giving me an opportunity to clarify the situation.

Camino Ucles —144 km into Madrid

No one from Australia to my knowledge. If you do, make sure you contact the association to get your credential, hence being registered and recognized with the shell upon completion of the camino. The credential can be picked up at the church of Santiago in Madrid. I can help if need be. Good...

Camino Ucles —144 km into Madrid

I think you will love it as a warm-up. Worthy of mention is the fact that no one to date from New-Zeland has walked this camino. The first to do it will get a shell with the flag of the country painted on it and placed in the International Tunnel. That is done by the association as a way of...
