    Third times a charm

In June of 2020 I will return. I cycled in 2013 by myself and walked with my wife in 2016. The 3rd time will be special as my granddaughter is walking with me. I hope she enjoys it as much as I have.

    First Camino CI

I've had it rain, but never had it stop progress. The good thing is, there is always somewhere close to stop, drink coffee and dry out. May is a good month.

My adventure begins and so now last minute emotions and questions

Honestly, transportation in Spain is pretty simple. I wouldn't sweat it. Although I always get anxious with travel and over plan. I took the bus from Madrid to Burgos in 2013 and found the time from terminal to bus really quick. It's a long bus ride, so rest up in Burgos. Don't miss the...

    Changes to camino before Portomarin

I loved the rocky drop, but people appeared frustrated behind us non rock stepping and little balance kind of people who took it slow. Be patient folks you'll get there.

Santiago Airport-trekking poles and checked bags

A little off topic, but last week flying back to Madrid from Santiago, my wife forgot to place the three pocket knives we purchased in checked bag. Security caught them, but allowed her to take on the plane. I was shocked, but I guess it is at their discretion.

Oh, that's the plastic sheeting you wear for 5 days over it instead of Vaseline or Neosporene. It took him about 3 hours in all. Blacklines in Santiago.

    Look Around You!

We just returned home. I was surprised at how many people treated their day as a race with head down, moving forward. It seemed to me that my snail pace walking was a blessing sometimes. On the same note, when my wife stops for a break, she likes to hang out for awhile. I would get anxiety...

Please don't ask what the weather will be like

I have to say the weather has been perfect the last few days.
