Finished the Camino two weeks ago and wanted to express my thanks to all the things that I encountered along the way.

Thanks to Peter for walking with me all 29 days. I met you by accident but you prove that there are no accidents along the Way. Alot of lessons to be learned from a new friend.

Thanks to the American doctor that borrowed one of my walking sticks and never returned it. You proved to be the antithesis of everything I was walking for but there are lessons to be learned from the negative and the positive. The Camino provides, but you took, yet that selfish act proved that I had more than I needed and I could share alot more than I thought possible.

Thank you to Katherine from Australia for sharing with me the bandages for my feet and doing so with concern and affection for another pilgrim. You will not be forgotten.

Thank you to all the albergues that supported me by offering shelter and meals. Even the snoring pilgrims around me taught me patience.

Thank you to the Catholic priests that gave me their blessings. For proving to me that I needed all the help I could get and for making me humble enough to ask for the blessings. The mass at San Juan de Ortega was the most meaningful. I still carry the cross that was given to me.

Thank you to all the nature and sights around me. We are all on our own Camino and nobody's Camino should be belittled or ridiculed. I hope I remember that always as I conduct my post Camino life.

Thank you to all the friends and family that prayed for me along the way. They were not in vain.

Thanks to the other pilgrims along the way. I hope I treated you with the same respect and admiration that everyone offerer me, and that was ALOT.

Thank you to this forum for the advice and counsel you offerer me before and after. The counsel was priceless.

I will be back next year for the Portugese Route and I hope I experience the same challenges and blessings from all around me.

Hi Eric. My wife and I ran into you at a cafe outside of Santiago and chatted for a few minutes. I'm glad you enjoyed the Camino and are back home safely.

Hi, Eric,
Great post, I was so happy to read a calm, reflective and peaceful post in the midst of all the hysteria about the shortage of beds and the rush for reservations that is pervading the forum these days. I worry that so much of what you write about will be lost as the camino becomes just another popular travel destination.

My walk last Sept/Oct was intended for a special birthday and ended as a walk in gratitude, simply for the many blessings in my life. I was rewarded even more for reasons similar to what you have so beautifully described here. Thanks for a wonderful post. I also agree with Laurie.
