So... Now I've been in Spain on vacation for 2 weeks, and now I have a plan. I will start from Ribadesella on the Norte, on the 26th, then go on to the Primitivo from Villaviciosa. Perhaps I'll meet some of y'all there!
Thanks, Ditte--I hope we will meet on the camino. Look for a tall (ish), balding guy of 45, carrying a blue backpack and possibly wearing a kilt. Not sure of your mother tongue, but I'm fluent in US English, German, do pretty well in French, and have the basics of Spanish.
Things are starting to get real! I will start my first Camino on June 26. I'll be coming by bus or train from Bilbao, and am still deciding whether to include a few days of the coastal route (maybe from Ribadasella?), or just start from Oviedo on the Primitivo. I fly home to the US from Santiago...
I'm so excited!
I just bought my plane ticket for Spain! My partner and I are vacationing for two weeks and I plan to start my Camino in Santander on about July 25. I look forward to meeting some folks on the Norte and Primitivo!
Re: The Camino Primitivo in October
Laurie and others,
Grateful for the ongoing and stimulating discussion on the Primitivo. I am planning my first camino for the same time frame as Normita, above, but plan to start somewhere on the Norte past Bilbao, maybe Santander. I am allowing myself...
Hi folks, Mr Indecisive here...
I would like to hear from folks who have ridden the Catalan camino on a bike. I am mostly a road biker, but would be willing to ride a mountain bike. Also used to long-distance trips on a bike. Any links to blogs, etc. are appreciated!
Best,
Doug K
I really appreciate hearing people's thoughts and experiences on this. Thank you!
I would love to start in the spring, but I am a professor and cannot leave the US until June 10 at the earliest due to commitments. Is the CF already quite overrun at that time--starting mid-June?
Thanks again!
I am planning my first camino for June-July 2013, and am interested in both Camino Francés and the Camino Vasco. One concern is expenses. Several sites mention that the Vasco route, because it is less traveled, is substantially more expensive in terms of accommodations, food, etc.
I would like...
I enjoy early music (read: medieval, renaissance, Baroque), and I have this CD which I may enjoy on my iPod.

These are some of the earliest notated examples of polyphony, and they are all about the feast of St...
I feel certain this must have been asked before, but I'll plow on anyway...
I plan to walk the CF beginning mid-June of 2013, and am VERY excited (maybe obsessed is a better word). I have done long-distance bike tours, am good with languages (moderate grasp of Spanish), but for some reason I am...
I would also be interested in contact with other Georgians who have walked/are walking/will walk the Camino. I live in Milledgeville and plan to walk in June 2013.
Hi, I'm Doug, from Georgia in the US.
I plan to do my first camino (francés) beginning mid-June 2013. I'm used to high humidity and biking long distances, but walking will be a new challenge. I am a light traveler and hope to use just my 30 liter REI day pack. I'm not decided on shoes yet.
