Hi,I am in Lugo today, and I have decided to take a day off tomorrow,I am just tired, happy, but tired. My plan now is to walk to As Seixas on Monday, then walk to Melide on Tuesday morning, then a bus to Santiago for my late afternoon flight....cutting it tight, but hey.I've done the France's from...
Hi,
It's as the others have said, the albergue Juvenil.
I chose it over staying in grandas,and I'm glad I did....there are however just 16 beds,when I arrived,most had been reserved,I got #14.
You are really looking at going back to grandas if it is full,or,walking a further 20k to a...
Not too far behind you....in Castro tonight at a lovely albergue/bar/restaurant run by the lovely Natalia.Highly Recommended.
I almost went on the Frances route after seeing torrential rain in Oviedo on Saturday last, but I have to say,the primitivo is spectacular.Got good weather for the...
Hi All,
Apologies if I am being lazy, but I have limited internet access,
And I can't see much current information regarding what trail conditions are like on the primitivo right now.The forecast for the next while does look like some more rain is on the way...
I have 14 days from Sunday in which...
I brought mine, but I ruined it by keeping it in my backpack, where the hydration pack normally sits.
Sweat/condensation killed it.Next time,for various reasons,a camera phone is all I'll take.
Short answer based on my own experience-no.I have a kestrel 38,and I find that
the side pockets are too far back to comfortably reach/replace a water bottle on the go.The elasticacted pockets are a bit tight, you might pull a bottle out,but you won't get it back in.
I have a Kestrel 38,and i find it great so far.I considered getting a smaller 32l version, but with the 38 i have space to store my jacket if it gets too hot,or if i need to buy food for the evenings/mornings,there is space for it.There is a great, easy to use on the go carrying system for walking...
Re: IMPORTANT: Advice for pilgrims setting off in March 2013
Thank you to everyone who posted practical advice here. After spending the last few days feeling anxious about the un-likelihood of setting off from sjpdp, including thinking about alternative routes,it looks like starting in pamplona...
Hi,
I Am considering walking this route(next week!) in order to avoid the early sections of the Frances, which are currently snowed in,and may be for some time.
Can anyone who has walked this route from irun to Santo domingo de la calzada,or to burgos give me any idea as to how practical this...
Re: IMPORTANT: Advice for pilgrims setting off in March 2013
I am in the same boat here, and with a little over a week to go,the weather situation is not looking good.
I'm even contemplating changing my route, trying the norte(tougher, less well serviced with perhaps similar weather...
Hi Caroline,
A brief search of Bilbao airports' services proves inconclusive, but there is always the option at bilbao's bus and/or train station, one of which you will most likely be using to leave the city?
As for rucksacks,i bought an osprey 'Kestrel 38' for my upcoming camino, and it's been...
Re: IMPORTANT: Advice for pilgrims setting off in March 2013
As an aside,if a lot of the early part of the french route is under heavy snow, how about the alternative via bayonne then on to the irun/tunnel route, and meeting up with the camino frances later,on lower ground?
Or does this route...
