I'm planning my next camino and thinking of leaving the 16-17 dec and walking to the 17 jan, am wondering has anyone walked over the xmas season.
Would love to hear about it. I m only really concerned about xmas week as i think there ll be other walkers the rest of the time.

Just be sure to stay dry, as long as the weather s above -4 to -3 you wont need to have a fleece under the waterproof layer, but do not get wet cause that will cause probs if the rain s getting in. Most of the hostels are warm, have radiators etc so wet clothes can be dried.

I totally recommend the winter camino, I'll be back again to do it, every day was fantastic (well except the Meseta cause I hate walking on the flat).
Remember the weathers only bad if you dont have the right clothes or equipment.

I walked the winter camino and I brought the following:
Gortex rain jacket, it keeps the wind and rain off, best piece of kit i had.
thermal underwear (leggings and vest)
2 pairs of hiking trousers
4 pairs of socks
2 hiking tops
a light fleece (never wore it walking at all though)
a hat, scarf...
