It's good to see that my plan to walk the Ingles in February 2020 is not so crazy. Did you get to meet other pilgrims on the way (aside from the champion snorer)? I am planning to do it in 5 days - really 5 1/5 with half a day when I arrive in Ferrol.
I hope I'm not crazy - but I am planning to walk the Ingles in the middle of February 2020. It's really the only time I could do it next year. I am from Northeast US, so the cold won't be my biggest worry. Are there any statistics on how many pilgrims walk the Ingles in winter?
Hello, looking at doing a winter Camino Ingles too - but mid February. My main worry is finding accommodations. From your posts, it looks like you had no problem. How cold and wet does it get? Am I crazy to even think of doing this?
Hi Spikey. Just coming back from my Sarria to Santiago compostela, and it did not disappoint.
I do not know your reasons for your walk, but I did enjoy meeting lots of people and the time to myself. This is just me, I would stay a town or two after the suggested itinerary. You would meet...
Do you have any idea on how much the taxi ride will be? I was planning on the 11AM bus from Madrid, but it arrives at 530PM which is when the MONBUS to Sarria leaves. The next bus to Sarria is not until 8PM.
Tickets to the overnight trains to Sarria after May 23 are now available at the Renfe website. The 1PM train is still not on sale - but they are not saying it is not running. Still hoping that the 1PM train runs.
I am travelling to Sarria on May 26. The Renfe site has been stuck at May 24 for the last couple of weeks.
I have been looking at the bus option using ALSA to Lugo and then taking the MONBUS back to Sarria but I would still rather take the train.
