A gentleman's undercarriage question regarding chafing......

I used very ordinary underpants while walking the Northern, Primitivo and the Portugeuse. Used Vaseline each morning on the potential chafing 'parts' and not a problem in site. Refresh those parts during the day with more applications if necessary.

The Tunnel Route ( La Ruta del Tunel)

You are proving a mine of 'route' information. Thank you so much. As for Michelin star restaurants .... I recall my wife and I pulling into an out of the way farmhouse type accommodation with only breakfast as part of the deal on the Northern Route, after an over ambitious day, and sharing an...

Hi, My wife and I are considering walking the Tunnel Route from Irun to Santo Domingo de la Calzada. Does anyone know of a detailed route map or website that might help us plan our walk? Why? One of the reasons is that last year we completed the Portuguese Route and because we had a detailed...

    Footwear

Thanks for the reply Shushy and description of the route. Yes cobbles can be ankle turners ..... however we used walking sticks and blessed their function every day. Last year we walked between 25 to 35 kms a day. We carried far too much and so appreciated the boot support although our fert...

    Footwear

Hi, My wife and I completed the Northern Route and Primitivo last year and this April are starting out from Porto (5 weeks away last year was quite taxing). Last year we wore hiking boots but really felt that on the Northern route it was unnecessary as there was lots of good tracks and...
