Seems really tough. But they were wanting to use Pilgrim facilities, whilst they were clearly not on a Pilgrimage. So it was really up to the 'managers' of the Albergue. Not sure I could have turned them away but I fully understand the decision.

It is easy to say that if there was space there was no harm but you don't know what the instructions were and the volunteers' previous experience. There have been posts on the forum bemoaning use of albergues on the Norte as cheap beach...
