My knee has given out. Need a place to recover for a week.

I recall the insurance paid for everything, doctors bill, meds etc. But do go to a bigger town like Burgos. It's super pleasant and easy to get there from Zubiri. where as someone suggested Finistre (that's not what you want) there's a good hospital at Burgos.

My knee has given out. Need a place to recover for a week.

Yes travel insurance paid for everything, but you need the doctors/hospital letter saying rest it for one/two weeks. I recall I had to go back as they made another appointment to clear me to be able to walk on, he said if I wasn't he would extend the rest time, so I booked a nice 5 star hotel...

Appointment needed to go to health Center ?

You will get a quicker response if you pay for a doctor's review and check than if you expect it for free.

My knee has given out. Need a place to recover for a week.

Get your leg up high above your waist for an hour every day, with an ice pack. I struggled with tendinitis on the Camino twice and had to pause the trip at Burgos, I went to the hopspital, paid for the doctor to review, write a report and give me pain relief and I rested up for 5 days in a 5...

I did a reverse to Porto via the coast route from Santiago and it was difficult to get everyday transfers, I walked less daily 18 klms and managed to establish a connection with various taxi drivers via hostel hosts and other taxi drivers, I got phone numbers going ahead over say 100 klm radius...

    Madrid City Walks

There's a city tour bus that's really nice hop on hop off, there are two options bus 1 or 2 tour. I've done both and I recall 1 was the nicer it takes you to the palace, where as 2 is more shopping and takes you to the football stadium Rio Madrid play from.

Transport along the Camino St James Route

Thx for your info, I'm returning from NZ. I agree it could be difficult but a good challenge. I want to fill the gaps and walk only the optional routes available start to finish, without walking the complete route again, I have other things to do on this visit north and only limited time. But...

What is your favourite? Suggest a route - coastal or coastal mixed with central. 7 days in April/may

In 7 days I would suggest do the Portuguese internal to say Tui. I did the coastal to porto (in reverse) from Vigo it took 15 days, but I took my time. You will have a better walking experience and mix with fellow walkers on the internal trail with only 7 days and its a nice walk. The coastal...
