Yes. Spend the day in Santiago. So much to see and experience. You could just spend the day in the Obradoiro sharing the joys of all your fellow pilgrims as they arrive. You could explore the city beyond its "classic" sights. You could spend the...

Never noticed any smell with Merino tops either cheap or high end! Before i walked i wore the same t shirt for five or maybe six consecutive days (i did shower 🤣) to see how bad they stink; they didn't! Although I did wonder on the last day ;why...

I find even merino wool itchy. And I hate the feel of tech fabrics. My compromise is tee shirts made of 65% polyester and 35% cotton. Feels like cotton, but dries pretty fast. These tee shirts are extraordinarily inexpensive, too.

I recently ordered a merino Tshirt from Amazon, and it has the same problem, noticed while it is drying or if I am sweating, despite several washings. It will not come on the Camino this fall. I have several Icebreaker merino shirts, they...

No. I may walk with a skort at times, a capri pant at others. I sweat easily so rain pants are not a good idea for me. I will be in Santiago by the beginning of October so it might still be quite warm on the way. I have frozen in Santiago in...

Sorry - me again. Whilst I’m fairly relaxed about getting wet and drying out again; that doesn’t extend to the contents of my rucksack. I use a waterproof liner and a waterproof cover and pack my spare clothes and sleeping bag in dry-bags...

Bed bugs can be living anywhere, but I have walked many caminos since 2008, every year. I have never seen a bed bug. I always check mattresses, liners, blankets, etc. Never seen a trace of them. But I have seen many "pilgrim" brutes, who I would...

Camino Sanabres is also a nice camino arriving in Santiago. You can take a hot bath in Ourense

I recently hosted a Spanish potluck and movie watching, 'The Way', with my fellow peregrinas. We did patatas bravas, albondigas, a Spanish charcuterie board with tinned fish and Spanish cheeses, and the Tarta de Santiago (probably one of the...
