A gateway to higher level personal truth is often through physical endeavor and/or overcoming one's fear(s). Planning to start on Aug 16
Buen Camino to you all! The Norte is, as you well know by now, a beautiful way!! I did, however, find the first week particularly challenging .... This doesn't mean that any of you will, but I think it wise to be mentally prepared for this possibility going in .... Good Way !!- NoHablo

Sandals with or without socks or trail runners?
I've walked full camino's in boots, sandals, and/or trail runners. Each has its pros and cons, depending on individual taste, of course.
