Apologies for lack of reply. We walk from Lires to Muxia on the 5th April. We stay overnight that night and way to get back to Santaigo the day after we arrive - 6th April. It would be lovely, as you say, to stay and spend more time but I need to get back to Australia for Friday the 10th. No...
What's the best way to get back to Santiago from Muxia? We arrive I. Muxia Sunday April 5 2015. I have seen there is a bus but with limited departure days/ times. We would like to fly to London on the Monday sometime?
In 2014 I walked the camino Frances SJPDP to Santiago de Compostela. Best thing I have ever experienced. So I'm heading back this time to walk Santaigo to Finisterre and then Muxia. Arriving in Santaigo on March 28th. This time with my partner - his first taste of the Camino.....tips?
I completed my Camino in mid July - all 780km of it. I started with two poles. I couldn't have managed the Pyrenees without them - particularly the downhill in the pouring rain and mid slime.....but after Pamplona I left carried them in my pack for a few days - just in case a - then discarded...
I agree - O'Cerbriero is magical! We walked about 30k that day and loved it :) La Faba was a great stop for lunch but when we got to the top....oh wow!
We stayed at Casa Carola early Huly this year) It was 'fine' nothing amazing but clean and comfy enough. No wifi (not everyone cares about this...
I found a quote last night from Spanish poet Antonio Machado 'traveler, there is no path, the path must be forged as you walk'
I hope you're still going ok.
Buen Camino
On the CF now. In Sarria. The first couple weeks - early June on, were hot. Shorts and singlets (I'm Australian so used to high temps) but have been in and out of long pants and jumpers since about Burgos. Hoping for some sun to brig us home to Santiago :) my tip - be prepared for anything and...
I've tried a few pair - still walking :) started with Merrel boots. No blisters but a bit heavy/ clunky. Moves to my Keen sandals but got annoyed with stones. Moved to my Kroton mesh walking shoes. Not wide enough especially on descents. Foot pain around my outer upper foot bones. So I bought a...
We went over on Wednesday June 4th. Pilgrims office said it would be fine. Maybe rain maybe not 'you'll be ok'. Wrong! The weather was apparently unexpected but awful. Rained heavily most of the way, icy wind, limited visibility and mud!!! Particularly bad after Orrisson. And we were not as well...
My friend and I are currently in Leon - en route to SDC from SJPDP. We are having the time of our lives. Meeting fabulously interesting people, seeing great sights, eating yummy (and sometimes average!) pilgrims meals at a range of places. Laughing walking singing reflecting on both our days on...
My friend and I are currently walking the Camino Frances and while there are certainly many other pilgrims walking we feel very much that we can choose to walk alone - which we do. We are staying I hotels so that makes it easier but the business of the pilgrims isn't off putting or even...
