    An April start for us

Hi Derek Going slightly off topic, but I see you mention walking the Thames Path as training. Over the years we've walked the path twice and canoed the river once, and adore it - a great way to get a new take on a familiar place. So if you want any tips about accommodation, get in touch...

Walking all the way from Scotland

Wow, that sounds a long way - I commend you for doing it in the five months. We're going from London and allowing about 8 months (but we're doing some enormous zig-zags via some other shrines, that's my excuse). Like you, we wanted to set out from our front door! It would be really good to hear...

Accommodation in the Morvan/ Massif Central ... and keeping

Hey Paulus, this is really useful information, thank you so much. We're steadily drawing in information and plotting it on the maps - this is great. I hope you find your place to set up accommodation for pilgrims - I'm sure everyone reading the forum will keep a watch out for it. And Omar, yes...

    Jewels of the Camino

Thank you Sillydoll. In amongst all the reading of guidebooks and worrying over packing lists as the date approaches, your comments have brought me back to the 'still small voices' of the experience that I'm looking forward to. I don't know what it will be like: it's all new. But I trust your...

Or we might get to the Channel and turn back... So a lot of the advice on how little to take won't be relevant - I'm expecting cold...

Going from London in January 2008

Thanks Peter - those are interesting suggestions. I'll get the maps out again and re-consider. I've been assuming we'd be in the Massif later into the summer, but when we were there in June a couple of years ago it certainly threw it down most of the time. Thanks for your very informative sites...

Going from London in January 2008

Or that's the plan anyway (damn this fear of flying!). We're heading off from London at the start of January and hope to get to Santiago sometime between August and October next year, depending on how much R&R we take. Or we might get to the Channel and turn back... So a lot of the advice on...
