I have walked the Hospitales route several times, and would only hesitate to walk it if thunder and lightening are in the forecast. There can be pea-soup fog up there, so I would make sure to walk with someone if it’s going to be foggy, so that...

Most pilgrims' meals will be a fixed-price menú del día. Spain does not have a culture of tipping (rounding up is perfectly acceptable). Why is sharing the bill/check even an issue? Best to relax, and leave these unnecessary concerns behind.

Not really a recognised concept in Spain. I can’t figure out where you’re from, but if it’s a culture where the staff are expected to be subservient, obsequious and rely on tips; Spain’s not like that. You’ll get one bill.

I just look at distance in km on my watch, and divide by time in hours, and voila! I get very close. No app, no calculator, just math in my head, because really--what else is there to do when my mind is completely empty out there!? 😂🤣
