Well, thank you everyone for your inspiring posts! :) Truly wonderful and supportive advice!
I HAVE stayed with it - and glad I did... Now in Puenta la Reina at a great albergue ( Jakue ) with a couple of good companions and just had a great day over the Alto de Perdon and a beautiful, sunny...
Just had a day break in Pamplona and about to spend my second night before heading to Puenta la Reina/ Gares. Bored off my trolley, fed up and depressed. 18 months of prep and no idea why I'm here. Zubiri to Pamplona was fine but so far everything else has just been very unpleasant.

Hi, Alasdair - thanks for your reply! Looking forward to meeting you, too - I'm staying at Beilari Albergue, directly across from the Pilgrim Office.
NB. I have to say it'll be a Franciscan and FORMER Benedictine - I'm a Pure Land Buddhist now! :-D
Hi, Alasdair! I'm starting out from SJPP on May, 4th! I'm also taking the Route Napoleon and am booked into Orisson for my first night.
Are you a fellow Scot? :)
Richard
As someone wrote elsewhere on this forum, 'Don't start the Camino until you start the Camino'! :) I'm taking as my motto 'Solvitur Ambulando' - It is solved by walking.
I leave St Jean on my first Camino on May, 4th: to all those I will meet - can't wait to meet you... see you there!
I reckon to hit Pamplona on the 7th - heading out the following day so you'll be a couple of days ahead... I'm taking it easy but, yeah, we might well meet! :)
