You can have solitude on the CF. Be the last to leave an albergue (usually around 8am) and you’ll likely have the trail completely to yourself. Spend more time in churches than in bars, pack your lunch so you can picnic solo, and choose private...

Marmot fleece jacket most of the time when chilled, lightweight (no lining/insulation) Outdoor Research rain jacket with hood for rain and/or wind. Combine both with a merino long sleeved base layer on colder days.

I walked the CF starting in April - a light waterproof Rain jacket as my outer and a fleece vest underneath worked best for me coupled with a long-sleeved shirt. Of course, I also had warm, water-resistant gloves and very warm wool hat helped me...
when I was looking at UV clothing in an REI (a US outdoor shop) The sales person told me that there was no difference in sun protection between the UV clothing or just getting a regular long sleeve shirt!
I agree with the rain jacket for multiple uses , that plus other layer like a puffer or fleece though i used a wool sweater that worked equally as well in april/may
