We have used Bikeiberia to do the Camino Portuguese and the Camino via de la Plata (2012/2013) and we could not recommend them more highly. Prices are good compared to others and their deliver and pick up service is great.
We found that catching the subway to Matosinhos and travelling the coast road to Vila do Conde and then cutting back inland to hook up with Barcelos a pleasant alternative to going through the outskirts and industrial areas of Porto. (see Brierley for alternatives)
We did this quite easily only a fortnight ago. Catch the train to Vigo from Santiago, have a nice lunch in Vigo and at around 1900hrs the train leaves for Tui, Valence and through to Porto. It arrives about 2100hrs. It is cheap, comfortable and fun.
It does depend on what u are prepared to spend! We recently had a week in a Quinta only 5 Kms from Barcelos for less than €70 per night. It was the best stopover we had from Lisbon to Santiago.
